This course is particularly well-suited for low-risk sectors such as offices and shops.  The Emergency First Aid at Work qualification is recognised by the HSE and is a regulated qualification by First Aid Awards (FAA).

Unit 1

After this course the first aider will be able to deal with the following –

  • Understand the roles and responsibilities of a First Aider
  • Assess an emergency situation safely
  • Provide first aid to an unresponsive casualty
  • Choking
  • External bleeding
  • Shock
  • Minor injuries

Where will the course take place?

We have 2 large classrooms here at Mylor Yacht Harbour on Admiralty Quay. We offer hot drinks.

Is lunch included?

No sorry, there is a great cafe in the marina though that does hot meals and sandwiches to eat in or takeaway.

Is there a cafe nearby to get some lunch?

Yes! Cafe Mylor and Castaways Restaurant both offer lunches. You can book online for a table which is definitely recommended, especially for Cafe Mylor.

I have a disability, can I still take this course?

Yes you can. We have ramped access 12:1, hearing loop and the car park is levelled access. There are also accessible toilet facilities in the harbour that are coded. We can give you the code on arrival.

Will there be a test at the end?

The qualification is assessed through practical demonstration and written assessment and a learner must pass both assessments to be awarded the qualification.
There is no grading of the assessment, learners pass or are referred.

Can this qualification be part of my CPD?

Yes, refreshers are always recommended on an annual basis for First Aid.
