Anyone can be affected by a mental health condition, this can be you, a family member, friend or a colleague.

This course will build on the Level 2 award and cover details on the range of therapy and professional support that a person may be offered by professionals.

Syllabus 

A range of subjects are covered including:

  • What is First Aid for Mental Health?
  • Identifying mental health conditions
  • Providing advice and starting a conversation
  • Drugs and alcohol
  • First Aid for Mental Health action plan
  • First Aid for Mental Health in the workplace
  • A large range of Mental Health conditions covered in detail

Certification

Upon successful completion of this qualification assessment, Learners will be awarded the Ofqual regulated Level 3 Award in Supervising First Aid for Mental Health (RQF)

Assessment

Continuous practical assessment each day by the instructor, including a written assessment each day. No external assessors are required.

Will this count towards my CPD?

Yes it will. This is an accredited course from RQF and regulated by Ofqual.

Where does the course take place?

In one of our well equipped classrooms here in Mylor yacht harbour, near Falmouth. Right by the water. Free parking passes given.

I have a disability, can I still take this course?

Yes you can. We have ramped access 12:1, hearing loop and the car park is levelled access. There are also accessible toilet facilities in the harbour that are coded. We can give you the code on arrival.

How many people on a course?

Up to a maximum of 16 but anywhere between 4 - 16 Learners.

Is lunch provided?

No lunch is not provided. You can either bring a packed lunch or there is a great cafe in the harbour. Cafe Mylor does hot food and sandwiches to eat in or takeaway. Hot drinks are provided by us, all sourced from The Cornish Tea and Coffee Company.

Can you come to our premises and deliver this course?

Yes we can. If you have several employees that you would like to take this training, then please get in touch and we can arrange a date.

Is there a cafe nearby to get some lunch?

Yes! Cafe Mylor and Castaways Restaurant both offer lunches. You can book online for a table which is definitely recommended, especially for Cafe Mylor.

Will I get my certificate straight away?

No, this will be sent to you from the recognised awarding authority direct.
