Mylor Sailing & Powerboat School took the GOLD!!
A tourism award for Mylor Sailing & Powerboat School!!
A winner of the GOLD for the Cornwall Tourism Awards 2017/2018 in the Access & Inclusivity category, was announced this month.
We are so delighted to be in the final and have worked extremely hard in the last two years to make our facilities as accessible and inclusive as possible.
Presented to us by the inspiring Helen Glover MBE Olympic Gold medalist rower from Truro. Helen made a wonderful speech to all the Cornwall entrepreneurs in the room.
This award is very prestigious and will help to raise awareness for anyone in our communities nationwide who has a disability or learning difficulty and would like to learn to sail or powerboat. The RYA has an Achievement Scheme for people with a learning difficulty and so you can work through certificates of Entry Level, Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum so there are five levels in total for this.
We also have a great volunteer scheme which is certificated in house.
The wonderful Award night was Thursday 2nd November 2017 at the beautiful Headland Hotel in Newquay, a posh do with a posh dinner so had a posh dress!!
