Cornwall Tourism Award Finalist!!
Mylor Sailing School took Silver!!
An Award for Mylor Sailing School!! We are a finalist for the Cornwall Tourism Awards 2016/2017 in the Access & Inclusivity category, it was announced this month. We are so delighted to be in the final and have worked extremely hard in the last two years to make our facilities as accessible and inclusive as possible.
This award is very prestigious and will help to raise awareness for anyone in our communities nationwide who has a disability or learning difficulty and would like to learn to sail or powerboat. The RYA has an Achievement Scheme for people with a learning difficulty and so you can work through certificates of Entry Level, Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum so there are five levels in total for this.
We also have a great volunteer scheme which is certificated in house.
The wonderful Award night was Thursday 3rd November 2016 at the Headland Hotel in Newquay, a posh do with a posh dinner so will need posh dress!!
If you would like to know more information about our adapted boats, classrooms and wheelchair friendly powerboat then please read here
The wonderful Eden Project took the Gold and it was an honour to be amongst them in this category.
