First Aid at Work (FAW) is designed to provide first aiders with the knowledge and skills they need to respond effectively to emergency situations in the workplace.
This course –
- Meets the Health and Safety Executives (HSE) requirements for first aid in the workplace
- Is widely recognised as a level 3 first aid qualification
The training covers a range of essential first aid skills that are suitable for larger or higher hazard workplaces, such as construction, manufacturing and some healthcare settings. There are a wide range of skills included in this training that will equip first aiders with the ability to respond quickly and confidently if someone is injured or becomes ill in the workplace.
This course covers all aspects of the 1 day Emergency First Aid at Work Course and also a broad range of additional skills –
- CPR
- Choking
- Bleeding, including life-threatening situations and the use of haemostatic dressings and tourniquets
- Shock and internal bleeding
- Burns
- Fainting
- Poison
- Head injuries
- Hypothermia and heat exhaustion
- Injuries to bones, muscles, joints (including spinal injuries)
- Seizures
- Heart attack
- Angina attack
- Stroke
- Asthma attack
- Sever allergic reaction
- diabetic emergency
